Source: ČTK (CZ) – The renewal and strengthening of damaged relations with the Visegrad Group countries or the promotion of Czech national interests is considered a priority in the field of foreign policy by the emerging government of ANO, SPD and Motorists, according to the draft program statement. In the defense department, the emerging government wants to include strengthening the state's air defense among its key tasks. It also wants to push through an audit of the department's finances or reconsider the concept of the army and investment plans. The parties also promise to reject the EU migration pact or tighten the rules for the residence of foreigners.
"The foreign policy of the Czech Republic will be based on the
principles of state sovereignty, national responsibility and protection of
Czech citizens, while at the same time promoting Czech national interests and
economic priorities," the declaration sets out the basic principles of
foreign policy. The future government wants to promote realistic, professional
and pragmatic diplomacy with respect for foreign partners.
